about
This EP has been in the works for 5 years, since I was in college working on solo material and developing a sound. There are so many people I want to thank for helping bring the vision I had to life. It took a team. I did not by any stretch do this alone. I am so lucky to have a core group of extremely talented friends and family, and worked with them day in and day out to realize this record and everything that goes with it. Their guidance and feedback are what made this project take shape and come to life.
Thank You to My Family Mom, Dad, and Corie for supporting me from the beginning when you gave me that first miniature guitar, drum set, piano, electric guitar and amp. I'm sure the "music" was a bit annoying at times, so I'm thankful for you putting up with that and even going as far to support it. You never once told me to stop playing. Mom and Dad, you provided me with a top-notch education, equipment, and activities since day one, and supported me 110%. Thank you, I love you and none of this would be possible if it weren't for you. Thanks to Grandma Mary and Grandpa Francis for always listening to my music and playing it for your friends, and for letting me play your piano in the den for all those years (and still every time I visit). Thank you Grandma Ginger and Grandpa Bob, I love you all. Thank you Aunt Libbie, Uncle Josh, and Anthony for supporting me and always being there for me, Thanks, Anthony for letting me sleep on your floor in LA while I worked on my album. Thank you Aunt Debe, Lindsay, Aubrey, and Austin for always encouraging me.
Very Special Thank You to my friend and extremely hard-working manager Wendy Strauss. You are such an inspiration and push me to be a better person every day. I've never met anyone as committed and caring as you. You are beautiful and have a beautiful soul, thank you for everything you've taught me and continue to teach me. Our 3am brainstorms have been so productive, hah! You deserve all the great things that come your way. Looking forward to many more years with you. Bubbles on me tonight.
Special Thanks to Jared Blake Scharff. You've worked your ass off on this project, you took on the large task with no hesitations and I want you to know that I know how lucky I am to have you involved in this project, not just as producer, but as my friend. It's been so cool working with you every day, I learned A LOT. You push me to be better in every sense of the word and always encouraged me to do everything to the best of my ability, not cutting corners, always setting the bar higher and not settling. Because of your drive we've made something really special. Thank you. Looking forward to more. Donuts on me tonight.
Special Thanks to Jesse Ruben. Wake… We really went in on this one huh??? Day in, day out writing. We went through so many versions of songs, it's ridiculous. How did you put up with me, seriously. I really appreciated having you as a writing partner and sounding board when I was uncertain of something or in a dark place. That means so much. The project wouldn't be the same without you. It's been so amazing being friends since that lyric writing class at Berklee, looking forward to many more years. Drinks on me tonight.
Special Thanks to Nate Campany. You've been an amazing mentor in this whole project and always made time for hearing what I'm up to, giving feedback on songs, and of course writing with me. You're such a talent; it’s always exciting hearing your songs and seeing you progress. I wish you so much luck and can't wait to hang again / write again, always. Game of BuckHunter on me tonight.
Special Thanks to Ben Romans. Since day one meeting you and talking to you on the phone about joining the band, you've been a true friend. Always there for me and helpful, charismatic, friendly, weird, hilarious, and of course talented. Thank you for flying out to NYC to hang and work on Go For Gold! all around the clock, for always making time to hear the new songs and give feedback, for all the late-night hip-hop recordings where there literally are no “bad takes”, and for always encouraging me to "get weird… in a good way". I truly cherish that. Thank you Wonder$how. New Paul Stanley soundbite library on me tonight.
Special Thanks to Zack Lieberman. Your vision has made this music come to life, in 3D! Thank you so much for working with me and for making the Go For Gold! video look larger than life, for spending hours sending 3D glasses to people with me, and for always striving to do things that are "bleeding edge". I look forward to working with you on that mega budget video in the future, and good luck with your film, novel and everything you're up to. I wish you much success. Jack Daniels on the roof tonight.
Special Thanks to Jayce Varden, Benji Rogers and everyone at PledgeMusic for creating a way for me to raise the funds to do this, in a way that includes others more than just financially.
I'd also like to thank Jan Smith for helping me find my "Vocal Thumbprint", Mark Baxter for building my vocal endurance, Steve Rieck for teaching me so much about music for 10 years and encouraging me to go to Berklee. Billy Justineau for spending so much time with me in amazing locations making music and for always making stuff sound amazing; your vibe is killer, you're a great friend. Big thanks to Ethan Mentzer, Joe Guese, Joey Zehr. Love you guys. Thank you for everything you've taught me and continue to teach me. Wayne and Elizabeth for believing in me. Mark and Kitty Davis for letting me use the Lake House to write for my album. The songs would not have taken shape, had I not had those opportunities.
